Industries

Every sector loads a transformer differently

A unit that performs well on a steady industrial load can age badly on a switching one. Ratings are specified against the duty the application imposes, not against a nameplate in isolation.

01

EV Charging Infrastructure

Fast-charging sites impose heavy harmonic content and constant duty cycling on compact step-down units.

K-rated and cast-resin dry-type units suit kerbside and indoor installations where footprint is tight and fire load is regulated. Neutral sizing and thermal headroom matter more here than headline efficiency.

02

Renewable Energy

Solar inverter duty and wind step-up applications run cyclic loads across wide ambient swings.

Units are specified for continuous cyclic loading, elevated ambient temperature and outdoor exposure. Inverter-duty windings and matched impedance protect against the switching stresses upstream.

03

Medical & Diagnostic

Imaging and theatre supplies need controlled leakage current and genuinely quiet operation.

Double-screened isolation transformers with specified leakage current, low audible noise and stable regulation under pulsed load. Traceability requirements are typically stricter than industrial equivalents.

04

Data Centres

Redundant power trains call for low-loss units holding regulation under non-linear load.

Cast resin dry-type units with tight voltage regulation, verified partial discharge levels and predictable loss figures — because loss is a recurring operating cost, not a one-time capital line.

05

Telecom

Remote and rooftop sites need sealed, low-maintenance units that survive dust, salt air and unattended operation.

Hermetically sealed or fully encapsulated construction with appropriate ingress protection and corrosion-resistant finishes. Maintenance access is the design constraint, because in practice there will be very little of it.

06

Traction & Locomotive

Rolling stock and depot supplies must take shock, vibration and rapid load reversal inside a tight envelope.

Reinforced clamping, vibration-tolerant winding support and dimensional discipline to fit fixed under-frame and depot envelopes. Test regimes typically extend beyond standard routine tests.
